What Does the Scholarship Offer?
As a Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholar, you will receive:

Who Can Apply?
The Ban Ki-moon Global Citizen Scholarship is open to motivated African youth who meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Must be from any African country, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.
- Age Requirement: 20–35 years old.
- Commitment to SDGs: Must demonstrate strong dedication to global citizenship and sustainable development.
- English Proficiency: Applicants must provide proof of a B2 level (European Standard) or higher in English.
- Educational Background: Must have completed at least a Master’s degree (or, in exceptional cases, the first year of a Master’s program).
How Does the Program Work?
For the 2025 cohort, the Ban Ki-moon Centre will select 14 young African leaders who will be joined by three students from the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), forming a diverse team of 17 changemakers. These scholars will work together, learning from experts and peers while implementing impactful projects in their respective communities.
SDG Micro-Project – Make a Difference Locally
A core component of the program is the SDG Micro-Project, where scholars will design and implement a localized initiative addressing one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These projects will tackle real-world challenges in their communities, contributing to meaningful social, economic, and environmental change.
